The Intouchables (2011)

I choose The Intouchables film as my review topic. The Intouchables found its inspiration in a real story, that of Philippe and Abdel Sellou, originally from Algeria. According to the Variety piece, the fact that an Arab's life became a black man's part on screen is a “telling” element of the film's “offensive” stance on race. In the story why Philippe wants to hire a person who had been in jail? Most people who care about the person’s background are good or not, but then Philippe doesn't care about Driss' past, he just wants to hire a person who treats Philippe as a normal person, not as a quadriplegic. Other than that, the director wants to balance the seriousness of the topic of immigration and the comedy that adds into it.  The Directors of this film are Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano.

Here is the simple explanation about this fim. This film is about  two men called Philippe and Driss. Philoppe he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caregiver. The story started from a quadriplegic millionaire because of the accident, he want to hires a young man to take care of his carers. The young man that he hires is called Driss. Out of the blue, Driss cuts the line of candidates and brings a document from Social Security and asks Phillipe to sign it to prove that he is seeking a job position so he can receive his unemployment benefit. Philippe challenges Driss, offering him a trial period of one month to gain experience helping him. Then Driss can decide whether he would like to stay with him or not. Driss accepts the challenge and moves to the mansion,  starting from that day Driss changes the boring life of Phillipe and his employees. The point of the movie is a growing relationship between these two likable men, based on Driss' confidence that Philippe will improve if he escapes his stuck-up lifestyle and samples the greater freedoms of an immigrant from Africa. There may be a certain truth in this, but the education of Philippe proceeds in a series of essentially insulting cliches. Driss, you see, has rhythm and soul, and if only Philippe can absorb some of that, he'll be a happier man. He'll still be a French millionaire surrounded by a protective staff, he'll still be paralyzed, but he'll be happier.

In conclusion, I recommended people to watch this film. From this film, I found an interesting  thing: disability is not the end of your life. Even if you are disability or not, you need to think positively so that all the happiness and luck will go on you.Other than that, having the right person and  friendship is important in your life. They might help you when you are needed and they will always be with you no matter how far they are, just like Philippe and Driss. This is the most touching movie that I have ever seen.
